Estefan González – campeón sub.-18 Comunidad Valencia en escalada en Bloque.

El pasado fin de semana del 26 y 27 de Abril el Centro excursionista de Callosa de Segura organizo junto con la federación Valenciana de Montaña el Campeonato absoluto de escalada en Bloque de la Comunidad Valenciana.

En la que Estefan González, miembro juvenil del Grupo de Montaña de Callosa de Segura quedo campeón sub.-18.

Otro éxito para Estefan que ya tiene muchas victorias a sus espaldas siendo todavía juvenil a sus 17 años. Una trayectoria que se ha visto recompensado por el patrocinio de dos empresas del sector de la montaña y la aventura como son (RODCLE y DEPORTES EL REFUGIO) dos empresas alicantinas que se están volcando con nuestro compañero Estefan.

Estefan tiene previsto participar en el Circuito de Escalada de la Comunidad Valencia y Murcia durante esta temporada y para la temporada que viene podría participar según los resultados en el circuito Nacional de Escalada.

Desde el Club dar nuestra enhorabuena a Estefan por el triunfo conseguido y dar el apoyo y la fuerza para que los éxitos no paren de llegar, puesto que es un diamante en bruto el cual esta empezando a pulirse para disfrute de todos los socios del Grupo de Montaña.

Bulder (adaptación del inglés boulder), escalada en bloque. Consiste en escalar bloques de roca o pequeñas paredes (de hasta unos 5 m, aunque a veces superan los 8 m) que pueden realizarse sin la necesidad de los materiales de protección convencionales en la escalada, como la cuerda. Generalmente se emplea una colchoneta portátil y la pericia atenta de los compañeros, "porteros", para que la posible caída no tenga consecuencias. La roca presenta "problemas" a resolver, tanto en ascenso como en travesía (horizontal). En este tipo de escalada prima la dificultad extrema o las espectacularidad condensada en un espacio pequeño de roca. Escalar en esta modalidad se conoce en argot como "blocar". Existe una derivación de este tipo de escalada denominado "psicobloc", que consiste en escalar bloques a gran altura con caída directa al mar, generalmente, cuya única protección es el propio agua.
